Computer interfacing: de kunst om computers en apparatuur aan te sluiten. In veel gevallen echter lijkt het meer op zwarte magie dan op kunst. Het is niet ondenkbaar dat je eindigt met het verwijderen van alle onnodige hardware uit de computer om die ene communicatiepoort aan de praat te krijgen. Ondanks alle interne plug-and-play hardware oplossingen voor de PC is er voor het aansluiten van een aantal externe apparaten nog steeds een bepaald niveau van technische kennis en ervaring nodig. Kabel informatie<\/a><\/dt>\n\n\n\n

Bij computer interfacing is het vaak moeilijk om de juiste kabel voor een bepaald doel te vinden. Hoewel de USB<\/a> interface probeert aan dit probleem een eind te maken zijn er nog veel situaties waar het nodig is de juiste kabel te zoeken. Dit kan het geval zijn wanneer een RS-232<\/a> of parallelle<\/a> kabel nodig is om een randapparaat met de computer te verbinden. Er is hier ook informatie over modulaire<\/a> kabels en kabels om PLC<\/a>\u2019s aan te sluiten voor het geval je werkt in de industri\u00eble automatisering.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n\n\n\n

Interfacing gaat niet alleen over kabels. In veel gevallen is ook achtergrond informatie nodig, om de juiste null modem<\/a> kabel te kiezen bijvoorbeeld. Deze pagina\u2019s bevatten gedetaileerde\u2014maar leesbare\u2014informatie over RS-232<\/a>, RS-422<\/a>, RS-423<\/a>, RS-485<\/a>, USB<\/a> en hoe interfacing in de PC is georganiseerd met I\/O poorten en interrupts<\/a> en UART\u2019s<\/a>.
