Zelfs in dit tijdperk van draadloze communicatie zijn kabels nog steeds de meest gebruikte methode om computers en randapparaten met elkaar te verbinden. Voor de communicatie worden vele verschillende soorten protocollen en kabels gebruikt met elk hun specifieke eigenschappen. Voor de meest gangbare kabels is er hier een duidelijke uitleg te vinden met in veel gevallen schema’s hoe de kabels zelf te maken.<\/p>\n\n

RS232 kabels<\/a><\/dt>\n\n\n\n
\n

RS232 kabels worden gebruikt om apparatuur onderling te verbinden die middels het RS232<\/strong> protocol communiceert. Deze al meer dan veertig jaar bestaande interface standaard wordt nog steeds veelvuldig toegepast. Met name in situaties waarbij een goedkope verbinding vereist is die niet snel hoeft te zijn maar wel een behoorlijke afstand moet kunnen afleggen. De gebruikelijke pintoewijzing voor zowel de DB9<\/strong> als DB25<\/strong> connector worden getoond, alsmede vele bedradingsvoorbeelden voor allerhande situaties.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n\n\n\n

Modulaire kabels<\/a><\/dt>\n\n\n\n

Modulaire kabels zijn het meest bekend van lokale UTP<\/strong> en FTP<\/strong> gebasseerde netwerken. Dit is echter niet de enige toepassing. van modulaire kabels. Ook analoge en ISDN<\/strong> telefoonverbindingen lopen vaak via modulaire kabels en Digital Equipment Corporation<\/em> heeft in het verleden een datakabel systeem gedefinieerd onder de naam DECConnect<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n\n\n\n

Parallelle kabels<\/a><\/dt>\n\n\n\n

Parallelle kabels worden van oudsher voornamelijk gebruikt voor het aansturen van printers. De zeven of acht parallelle datalijnen zorgen voor een hogere dataoverdracht snelheid wat met name bij grote printopdrachten van belang is. De parallelle interface is echter ook geschikt voor twee richtingen verkeer en speciaal voor dat doel is de Interlink<\/em>\u2013 of Laplink<\/em> kabel ontwikkeld. Met deze kabel kan met behulp van geschikte software data tussen twee computers worden uitgewisseld. Zowel van de reguliere printerkabel, als van de Laplinkkabel worden schema\u2019s getoond.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n\n\n\n

PLC kabels<\/a><\/dt>\n\n\n\n

PLC kabels worden gebruikt voor het verbinden van industri\u00eble besturingen met PC’s en randapparatuur. Er is een woud aan kabels voor dit type communicatie omdat elke fabrikant zijn eigen kabellayout lijkt te bedenken.
